Doctor at Home
7 FAQsTouch provides General Practitioners (GPs) for most home visit needs, including fever, flu, infection, chronic condition management, and general health assessments. Specialist doctors are also available for select conditions. The doctor assigned will be DHA or HAAD licensed. You can note any preference in your booking instructions.
For on-demand urgent bookings, a doctor typically arrives within 30 to 90 minutes depending on your location and current availability. You can also schedule a visit for a specific time slot up to 7 days in advance. You will receive real-time updates on the doctor's ETA via the app.
Yes. If clinically appropriate, the attending licensed physician can issue a valid UAE prescription during your home visit. Prescriptions comply with UAE Ministry of Health and DHA regulations. Controlled substances are not prescribed. You can then arrange delivery of your prescription medication through the Touch Pharmacy service.
A Touch home doctor visit is suitable for: fever and flu, cough and cold, ear and throat infections, urinary tract infections, skin rashes and mild allergic reactions, stomach aches and digestive issues, minor injuries needing assessment, chronic disease follow-ups (diabetes, hypertension, asthma), and general health concerns. For suspected serious or emergency conditions, please go to a hospital or call 998.
Yes. Touch doctors arrive fully equipped with a professional medical bag including a stethoscope, blood pressure monitor, thermometer, pulse oximeter, otoscope, ECG machine (on request), glucometer, and basic diagnostic tools. They are trained to conduct a comprehensive assessment in a home setting.
Yes. If the doctor assesses that you are medically unfit for work, they can issue a sick leave certificate in accordance with UAE Ministry of Human Resources guidelines. The certificate will be on official letterhead from the doctor's licensed facility and can be submitted to your employer.
If the doctor determines that your condition requires hospital-level care, tests, or specialist attention, they will provide a written referral letter and advise on the most appropriate facility based on your condition, location, and insurance provider. In urgent situations, they can assist in arranging emergency transport.
IV Drip
6 FAQsIV (intravenous) Drip therapy delivers vitamins, minerals, electrolytes, and hydration directly into your bloodstream through a small needle, bypassing the digestive system for immediate absorption. Benefits include rapid rehydration, energy boost, immune support, hangover recovery, post-workout recovery, and general wellness. Touch offers a range of IV formulations designed for different wellness goals.
A typical IV Drip session takes 45 to 90 minutes depending on the drip type and volume. The nurse or doctor will arrive, conduct a brief health assessment, set up the IV, and monitor you throughout. You remain comfortable in your own space — in bed, on a sofa, or at your desk.
Yes, when administered by a licensed clinical professional. All Touch IV Drip sessions are administered by a DHA-licensed nurse or doctor trained in IV cannulation. A brief health screening is conducted before every session to ensure you are a suitable candidate. Contraindications such as heart conditions, kidney disease, or current infections may prevent the session from proceeding. Your safety is the priority.
Touch offers a range of IV formulations including: Energy Boost (B vitamins + magnesium), Immune Defense (high-dose Vitamin C + zinc), Hydration Drip (saline + electrolytes), Hangover Recovery (anti-nausea + hydration + vitamins), Beauty & Glow (glutathione + Vitamin C), Athletic Recovery (amino acids + minerals), and Custom Wellness (tailored to your consultation). The attending clinician will recommend the most suitable option based on your health and goals.
IV Drip therapy is not recommended for: people with active heart failure or severe kidney disease, pregnant women (unless clinically supervised), those with known allergies to IV components, individuals with active infections or sepsis, or children under 18 without specialist clinical oversight. The nurse will review your health history before proceeding and will cancel the session if any contraindications are identified.
For general wellness, most people receive an IV Drip once a week to once a month depending on the formulation. High-dose Vitamin C drips should not be administered more than twice weekly. Your attending clinician will advise on the appropriate frequency based on your health goals and assessment findings.
Lab Test
6 FAQsTouch offers a wide range of home lab tests including: Complete Blood Count (CBC), Comprehensive Metabolic Panel, Lipid Profile, HbA1c (diabetes screening), Thyroid Panel (TSH, T3, T4), Vitamin D and B12 levels, Iron Panel, Liver and Kidney Function Tests, STD / Sexual Health Panel, COVID-19 PCR and Antigen, Hormonal Panel, Allergy Testing, Urine Analysis, and customised health screening packages.
After booking, a DHA-licensed phlebotomist arrives at your home at the scheduled time with all required collection equipment. They collect your blood, urine, or swab sample at home in a clean and professional manner. Samples are transported to a DHA-accredited laboratory for analysis. Results are delivered digitally to your app or email within the stated turnaround time.
Most standard blood tests return results within 24 to 48 hours. Routine panels (CBC, lipids, glucose) are typically available within 24 hours. More specialised tests such as hormonal panels, allergy testing, or culture results may take 48 to 72 hours. Urgent PCR results are available within 4 to 6 hours where applicable. You will be notified via the app and email when your results are ready.
Fasting is required for certain tests including fasting glucose, lipid profile, and some metabolic panels — typically 8 to 12 hours of fasting with water permitted. Your booking confirmation will clearly state whether fasting is required for the specific test you have selected. If you are unsure, contact support before your appointment.
Yes. Touch uses DHA-accredited laboratories whose results are recognised and accepted by hospitals, specialist clinics, employers, and insurance providers across the UAE. Each result report carries the accreditation details and can be used for follow-up consultations, insurance claims, and employer health screenings.
Yes. Your results are delivered digitally and stored securely. You can access, download, and share your lab results directly from the Touch app at any time. Touch does not store your clinical health data — results are managed by the accredited laboratory and delivered directly to you.
Nurse at Home
5 FAQsA Touch home nurse can provide: wound care and dressing changes, IV cannulation and infusion management, post-surgical care and monitoring, catheter care, medication administration (injections, IV medications), vital signs monitoring, diabetic care and insulin management, nasogastric tube care, stoma care, post-natal and newborn care, health assessments, and patient monitoring for chronic conditions.
Yes. Touch nurses are DHA-licensed Registered Nurses (RNs) experienced in post-operative and complex home care. For post-surgical visits, please provide your hospital discharge summary and surgeon's care instructions when booking so the nurse can prepare appropriately and ensure continuity of care.
Yes. A licensed Touch nurse can administer prescribed injections at home including intramuscular (IM), subcutaneous (SC), and intravenous (IV) medications, provided you have a valid prescription from a licensed UAE physician. The nurse will verify the prescription before administration. They cannot administer controlled substances.
During booking you can select a recurring schedule — daily, every other day, or weekly — based on your care plan. Touch will assign a consistent nurse where possible to ensure continuity of care. Your nurse will also provide a brief status update after each visit through the app so you or a family member can stay informed.
Yes. Touch nurses with paediatric and postnatal experience can provide newborn health assessments, weight monitoring, feeding support guidance, umbilical cord care, jaundice monitoring, and postnatal recovery support for mothers. Please specify 'postnatal care' when booking and include the baby's age and any specific concerns.
Physiotherapy
4 FAQsA Touch home physiotherapist can treat: lower back pain and sciatica, neck pain and cervical strain, shoulder, knee, and hip injuries, post-surgical rehabilitation, sports injuries and muscle strains, stroke rehabilitation, neurological conditions (Parkinson's, MS), elderly mobility and fall prevention, posture correction, and repetitive strain injuries. A full assessment is conducted on the first visit.
Touch physiotherapists bring a professional home visit kit including: therapy bands and resistance tools, portable ultrasound and TENS/EMS electrotherapy devices, massage tools and foam rollers, taping supplies (Kinesio and rigid tape), exercise prescription materials, and all required PPE. Large gym equipment is not part of a home visit but the physiotherapist will prescribe appropriate home exercises using what you have available.
The number of sessions depends entirely on your condition, its severity, and how your body responds to treatment. After your first assessment session, the physiotherapist will provide a personalised treatment plan with a recommended number and frequency of sessions. Acute injuries often respond in 3 to 6 sessions; chronic conditions or post-surgical rehab may require 8 to 16 or more sessions.
No. You do not need a doctor's referral to book a Touch physiotherapy session. However, if you have a recent MRI, X-ray, surgical report, or specialist letter, please have these available at your first appointment so the physiotherapist can tailor treatment appropriately. For insurance claims, your insurer may require a referral — please check with your provider.
Care Giver
4 FAQsA Touch Care Giver provides non-clinical personal care and daily living support for elderly individuals, those recovering from illness or surgery, people with disabilities, or anyone needing regular assistance at home. Services include: personal hygiene assistance (bathing, grooming, dressing), meal preparation, mobility support, medication reminders, companionship, and light household tasks related to the patient's care.
A Care Giver provides personal care, companionship, and daily living support — they do not perform clinical or medical procedures. A Nurse is a licensed healthcare professional who provides medical care including wound dressing, injections, medication administration, and health monitoring. If your loved one needs both, you can book both services through Touch, and we will coordinate the two to work alongside each other.
Yes. Touch Care Givers are available for hourly, daily, overnight, or extended care arrangements. For long-term care needs, please contact our team at support@touchdubai.ae so we can discuss a tailored care plan, consistent carer assignment, and a pricing arrangement suited to your family's needs.
Touch has Care Givers with experience in supporting individuals with dementia, Alzheimer's disease, physical disabilities, and autism spectrum conditions. When booking, please specify any special needs or conditions in the booking notes and our team will match you with a Care Giver who has appropriate training and experience.
Peptide
4 FAQsPeptide therapy uses short chains of amino acids (peptides) to support specific physiological functions such as hormone regulation, tissue repair, immune modulation, anti-ageing, and performance optimisation. Common peptides include BPC-157 (tissue repair), TB-500 (healing and recovery), and growth hormone-releasing peptides (GHRPs). All Touch peptide therapies are administered under medical supervision.
Yes. A medical consultation with a Touch doctor is mandatory before any peptide therapy is initiated. The doctor will assess your health history, goals, and suitability, and will determine the appropriate peptide, dosage, and administration schedule. Peptides are only prescribed and administered where clinically appropriate.
Depending on the peptide type, administration may be via subcutaneous injection (most common), intravenous infusion, or nasal spray. All injections are administered by a licensed Touch nurse or doctor at your home. If self-injection is appropriate for your protocol, the clinician will train you on safe technique during the first session.
The regulatory status of specific peptides in the UAE varies and is subject to Ministry of Health and Prevention (MOHAP) guidelines. Touch only facilitates the use of peptides that are permissible under current UAE regulations and prescribes them only when clinically justified. Our medical team will advise you on what is available and appropriate in your specific case.
Radiology
4 FAQsTouch currently facilitates portable home radiology services including X-ray (chest, limbs, spine), portable ultrasound (abdominal, pelvic, musculoskeletal, Doppler vascular), and ECG. CT scans and MRI require hospital-grade equipment and cannot be performed at home — Touch can coordinate a referral and appointment for these.
For portable X-ray and bedside ultrasound, the diagnostic quality is clinically appropriate for most indications. All Touch radiology services are performed by DHA-licensed radiographers or sonographers using certified portable equipment. Reports are reviewed and signed off by a qualified radiologist. For complex or high-resolution imaging needs (e.g., fine detail MRI), a hospital-based scan is recommended.
A clinical indication or referral is required for radiology services to ensure the investigation is clinically appropriate and to protect your exposure to radiation where applicable. If you have a doctor's request, upload it when booking. If you need a referral, book a Touch Doctor at Home consultation first and the doctor can assess and refer you if appropriate.
All Touch radiology results are reviewed and formally reported by a qualified, DHA-licensed radiologist. Written radiology reports are delivered to you digitally within 24 to 48 hours of the scan. Emergency or urgent findings are communicated immediately to the referring clinician and to you.
Pharmacy
5 FAQsBrowse or search medications and healthcare products in the Touch app, add to cart, and place your order. A licensed pharmacist reviews your order to check for contraindications or prescription requirements. Your items are packed and dispatched from a DHA-licensed pharmacy and delivered to your door — typically within 60 to 90 minutes.
Yes, for prescription medications you must upload a valid UAE prescription from a licensed physician when placing your order. The Touch pharmacy team will verify the prescription before dispensing. Controlled substances (narcotics, psychotropic medications) require a special prescription and cannot be ordered through the standard delivery flow.
Touch Pharmacy offers: over-the-counter (OTC) medications, prescription medications (with valid Rx), vitamins and supplements, first aid supplies, baby and maternal health products, chronic disease management products (glucometers, BP monitors, insulin supplies), skincare and personal care items, and medical devices. Availability may vary by stock.
Yes. All products dispensed through Touch Pharmacy are sourced from DHA-licensed suppliers and distributors. The pharmacy is licensed by the Dubai Health Authority. Cold-chain products (such as insulin and some vaccines) are stored and transported in temperature-controlled conditions. You will receive products in their original, sealed packaging.
For safety and hygiene reasons, most pharmaceutical products cannot be returned once delivered and accepted. Exceptions are made for: damaged or defective products on delivery, incorrect items dispatched, or temperature-sensitive products that show evidence of improper storage during delivery. Contact support@touchdubai.ae within 24 hours of delivery with photo evidence to initiate a return review.
Medical Massage
4 FAQsMedical Massage (also known as therapeutic or clinical massage) is performed by a licensed healthcare practitioner specifically to address medical or musculoskeletal conditions such as chronic pain, muscle spasm, post-injury recovery, or rehabilitation. Unlike a spa massage focused on relaxation, medical massage uses targeted clinical techniques and may be part of a structured treatment plan. Touch medical massage is delivered by qualified practitioners, not spa therapists.
Medical Massage is beneficial for: lower back pain and muscle tension, neck and shoulder stiffness, post-injury soft tissue recovery, sports-related muscle tightness, headaches caused by muscle tension, lymphatic drainage and swelling, post-surgical scar tissue management, peripheral neuropathy, and stress-related physical symptoms. The therapist will assess your condition before treatment.
Ensure you have a clear, flat surface (a bed, a massage table if you have one, or a clean floor mat). Wear comfortable, loose clothing. Avoid eating a heavy meal at least one hour before your session. The therapist brings all required supplies including massage oil, fresh towels, and any therapeutic equipment needed for the session.
Medical Massage is not recommended for individuals with: active infections, fever, or contagious skin conditions; blood clots or deep vein thrombosis (DVT); open wounds or recent surgical sites; severe osteoporosis; active cancer requiring oncologist clearance; or severe cardiovascular conditions. Please disclose your full medical history when booking.
STD Testing
4 FAQsTouch offers confidential home STD / sexual health testing including: HIV (1 & 2), Chlamydia and Gonorrhoea (PCR), Syphilis (VDRL and TPHA), Herpes Simplex Virus (HSV-1 & HSV-2), Hepatitis B and C, HPV screening, Trichomonas, and comprehensive sexual health panels. Sample types may include blood, urine, or swab depending on the test.
Absolutely. Touch STD testing is fully confidential. The visit is discreet — the professional arrives without branded uniforms upon request. Your results are delivered privately to your app account and registered email only. Touch does not share STD test results with any third party, employer, or government body except where mandatory reporting is required by UAE law for specific notifiable diseases.
Touch uses DHA-accredited laboratories and PCR-based testing methods, which are the gold standard for STD diagnosis and carry sensitivity and specificity rates above 97% for most pathogens. Results are reviewed by a licensed physician and clearly annotated. If a result requires confirmation, the supervising doctor will advise on next steps.
If your result is positive, a Touch doctor will contact you to discuss the result confidentially, explain next steps, and advise on treatment options. Where appropriate, the doctor can prescribe treatment or refer you to a specialist. All conversations about positive results are strictly confidential and handled with care and sensitivity.
Health Checkups
4 FAQsA Touch Health Checkup at home typically includes: a full medical history review, vital signs assessment (blood pressure, heart rate, temperature, SpO2, weight/BMI), blood sample collection for a comprehensive panel (CBC, metabolic panel, lipid profile, blood glucose, liver and kidney function, thyroid, and Vitamin D), and a written health report with findings and recommendations. Premium packages may also include ECG and additional screening tests.
For healthy adults under 40, an annual checkup is generally recommended. Adults over 40, or those with chronic conditions such as diabetes, hypertension, or heart disease, should consider a checkup every 6 months or as advised by their doctor. Touch also offers targeted checkups for specific concerns such as women's health, cardiovascular health, diabetes screening, and executive health packages.
Yes, most comprehensive health checkup packages require 8 to 12 hours of fasting for accurate blood glucose and lipid panel results. Water is permitted during the fasting period. Your booking confirmation will confirm fasting requirements. Morning bookings are generally easiest for fasting appointments.
Yes. Touch health checkup reports are issued by DHA-accredited laboratories and licensed physicians, making them valid for employer medical screening, insurance underwriting, and pre-employment health certificates. For specific regulatory requirements (e.g., Dubai Municipality, MOHRE medical tests), please confirm with the relevant authority that home testing meets their requirements before booking.
Psychology
5 FAQsA Psychologist (Psychology service) provides talk therapy, counselling, and evidence-based psychological interventions such as CBT, psychotherapy, and behavioural therapy. They cannot prescribe medication. A Psychiatrist (Psychiatry service) is a medical doctor specialising in mental health who can diagnose mental health conditions, provide therapy, and prescribe psychiatric medications. Many people benefit from working with both.
Touch psychologists can support individuals experiencing: anxiety and panic disorders, depression, stress and burnout, grief and loss, relationship difficulties, low self-esteem and confidence issues, phobias, trauma and PTSD, eating disorder support, work and career stress, life transitions, and general emotional wellbeing. Sessions are conducted via video call or in person at your home by appointment.
Yes. All psychology and psychiatry sessions conducted through Touch are strictly confidential. Information shared in a session is not disclosed to any third party, including employers, family members, or insurance providers, without your explicit written consent. The sole exceptions are situations involving imminent risk of serious harm to yourself or others, where clinicians are legally and ethically obligated to take protective action.
Touch is not an emergency mental health service. If you or someone you know is in immediate mental health crisis or at risk of self-harm, please call the UAE National Crisis Line: 800-HOPE (4673), contact the nearest hospital emergency department, or call 999. Touch psychology sessions are for ongoing therapeutic support, not acute crisis intervention.
Yes. Touch has psychologists experienced in child and adolescent mental health. Sessions for individuals under 18 require parental or guardian consent. The parent or guardian may be included in part of the session at the therapist's discretion. Child psychology is available for issues including school anxiety, behavioural challenges, ADHD support, and family transitions.
Psychiatry
4 FAQsYes. Touch psychiatrists are licensed medical doctors specialising in mental health and hold UAE prescribing authority. They can prescribe psychiatric medications including antidepressants, anti-anxiety medications, mood stabilisers, ADHD medications, and antipsychotics where clinically appropriate, in full compliance with UAE Ministry of Health prescribing regulations.
Touch psychiatrists can assess and treat: clinical depression and bipolar disorder, anxiety disorders and OCD, ADHD in adults and adolescents, schizophrenia and psychotic disorders, PTSD and trauma-related disorders, insomnia and sleep disorders, eating disorders requiring medical management, personality disorders, and addiction and substance use disorders (assessment and referral).
A psychiatry consultation with Touch can take place as a home visit (in-person) or via secure video consultation. The session typically lasts 45 to 60 minutes for an initial assessment and 20 to 30 minutes for follow-up reviews. The psychiatrist will review your history, discuss your concerns, conduct a clinical assessment, and provide a diagnosis, treatment recommendations, and prescription if indicated.
Coverage depends on your individual health insurance plan and provider. Many UAE insurance plans cover psychiatric consultations, particularly those issued under the DHA's mandatory health insurance framework for Dubai employees. Contact your insurance provider to confirm your mental health coverage and whether Touch's licensed facilities are on your network before booking.
